When the Cossacks are reborn and their former power is multiplied, Russia will revive too!
The twenty-first century. Modern Russia. Globalization, cultural integration, gradually lost identity are the characteristic features of our time. Unfortunately, over a long period of time people of a great and strong country have been losing their roots, however, in our new reality the age-old Russian traditions begin to revive.
There is no doubt that the Cossacks have traditionally been one of the pillars of Russian great power statehood. Today they are being revived proving again their ability to solve important problems of the country. The Cossacks’ ability to be a driving force has deep national and cultural roots.
And who is a Cossack? A Cossack is a warrior and a hard worker selflessly protecting interests of his dearly loved homeland. For centuries Russia has been strengthened by the Cossacks’ will, faith, justice, valor and service to their native land.
It is no secret that miners are also distinguished by their courage, honor, dignity, and famous for good deeds. And therefore it is no wonder that last year the first university of the Urals opened the Center of Cossack culture, and this year it has established a Cossack stanitsa having the same name "Ural Mining University."
And on Monday, November 21, the Ural Mining University hosted members of the Council for the Cossacks’ Affairs under the President of the Russian Federation. Eleven atamans of Cossack military societies from throughout Russia visited the University St. Nicholas Church of Russian Miners, and then they proceeded to the main building where they were welcomed with an inspirational song “Slavsya”.performed by the choir and orchestra of the Mining University The atamans’ introduction to the Ural Mining University was a great success. The guests walked past the stands on the ground floor, where they learned about the achievements of the university in the field of culture, sports, and public life, raised the meteorite “for luck”, and proceeded to the second floor. Students’ ceremonial parade made a great impression on the guests. University uniform, cordial bread-and-salt welcome, and radiant smiles of the students pleased all the atamans.

And our wonderful creative groups whirled the guests in a bright kaleidoscope. In the Tsar Hall the Council saw the performances of a famous dancing orchestra of the Ural State Mining University conducted by the Honored Artist Colonel Alexandr Pavlov, an ensemble of a Cossack song "Bagrenye" from the stanitsa "Ural Mining University" and Academic Choir "Rock Crystal" together with a folk dance ensemble "Chameleon" with their composition "Orenburg Cossacks".

After that the Rector of the Ural Mining University and the ataman of the Cossack stanitsa having the same name Nikolai Kosarev made a report.

The ataman of Irkutsk Cossack military society, Adviser to the Governor of the Irkutsk region Nikolai Ivanovich Shakhov shared his impressions of the stanitsa "Ural Mining University, "It is crucially important to create such organizations! The Cossack societies are in need of such highly qualified and well-mannered people. Your stanitsa is the highlight of the modern Cossacks!"

When the Cossacks are reborn and their former power is multiplied, Russia will revive too!
