Sverdlovsk Branch of the All-Russian Pedagogical Assembly discussed the People's program and the results of the primaries
The nationwide primaries have come to an end. Within the People's Front the work on preparing the People's program is underway. So far a huge number of proposals have been received to be considered by a special commission for the comments and suggestions.

On Thursday, September 15, the Ural State Mining University held a conference of the Regional Council of Sverdlovsk Branch of the All-Russian Pedagogical Assembly with participation of the representatives of the teaching community from the municipalities having no local branches of the All-Russian Pedagogical Assembly. The participants of the conference got together to sum up the involvement of Sverdlovsk Branch of the All-Russian Pedagogical Assembly in the primaries of the All-Russian political party "United Russia", as well as to discuss an opportunity to realize initiatives of the All-Russian Pedagogical Assembly in the People's Program "Education".

The leader of the regional branch of the All-Russian Pedagogical Assembly, the rector of the Mining University, Nikolai Kosarev, told about the results of the nationwide primaries and the need for a representative of the teaching community in the State Duma. In order to achieve specific current and long-term results, to communicate with the government on equal terms, the education community must have its official representative in the bodies of the legislative power. Nikolai Petrovich also dwelled on the issue of forming a corporate culture among students and on moral education. He also noticed that the problems of improving the status of a teacher and his social position demanded follow-up revision. Therefore the Regional Council decided to continue the practice of participation of the members of the All-Russian Pedagogical Assembly in election campaigns at various levels, to stimulate the organization's activities in this area, and to start cooperation with the Ministry of General and Vocational Education.


A specialist in relations with the teaching public Tatyana Belova told about the People's program on modernization of education, voiced the proposals of the All-Russian Pedagogical Assembly and the initiatives being offered by Sverdlovsk Branch of the All-Russian Pedagogical Assembly within the framework of the planned agreement with the regional Ministry of Education. It was agreed to support and contribute to the recognition at the legislative level of pre-school education as the first stage of general education of a human; the construction of departmental kindergartens on the basis of public and private partnership and the increase in salaries of pre-school teachers; the creation of a universal system of education quality; the decrease in the bureaucratic burden to teachers and schools; and the solution of the problem of students and teachers' health promotion.

One of the most enjoyable moments of the meeting was presentation of the honorary diplomas of the Education and Science Ministry of the Russian Federation to the members of the All-Russian Pedagogical Assembly. Among those honored were the principal of school # 21 in Yekaterinburg, Olga Selezneva, a teacher of lyceum # 110, Yuriy Gavrilov, and the director of the municipal educational institution of supplementary education for children in Artyomovskiy, Alexandr Skutin.
