So, agitation associated with final examinations and admission is over. Until the last day the  admission committee of the Mining University worked hard while worrying parents and applicants  were at the limit of human capabilities, because the situation was changing every hour,  copies of certificates being changed into originals, continually raising the passing score.

The Mining  University  not only teaches but also brings up creative personalities, breeding special people - a mining fraternity governing the universe.

Despite the impact of demographic decline of the  90s , despite considerable  decrease in the  number of school leavers this year, enrollment competition at the Mining University is now twice as high as that of last year, and taking into account the results  of of the Unified State Examination it has become harder, because the passing score at the Ural State Mining University has increased on average by 30 points.

All in all 1,800 original school leaving certificates and certificates on the results of the Unified State Examination have been received for 749 state-funded places, including the Faculty of Secondary Professional Education. So far about 750 contracts for higher and secondary professional education have been signed and every day the number of vacant places for those willing to study at the Ural State Mining University  on a fee-paying basis reduces.

In 2010,  first 120 of those who left the 9th classes of Yekaterinburg schools, have become students of the Faculty of Secondary Professional Education of the Ural State Mining University.

And finally on August 5 at 11.00 on the stage of the Mining University all the enrolled applicants were congratulated by the Rector of the University Nikolai Kosarev,  the head of the community liaison office of Vladimir Putin, deputy chairman of the region duma Anatoliy Sukhov and the representative of  Yekaterinburg diocese, priest Vladimir Zaitsev. Then freshmen enjoyed  an exiting show and  met  the deans and the heads of the departments.

The Mining University is proud of its new  freshmen including 57 medalists, more than 470 young people actively involved in sports and having  sports related categories, as well as about 350 gifted young people. And today three of them have their  birthday. The Mining University congratulates Vedetskaya Kristina, Tsvetikov Dmitriy and Chiyasheva Kseniya on their birthday and wishes them  academic achievements.
