New Awards Added the Collection of Medals of Nikita Lobintsev, our student
The student of Mining-Technological faculty Nikita Lobintsev has returned with new awards from the European Championship on aquatic kinds of sports having taken place in Budapest. Nikita has brought two golden medals, gained in relay races 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 m, and a silver one in personal race on 200 meters.
It is of worth saying that in the relay race on 4 x 100 meters our team (Yevgeny Lagunov, Andrei Grechin, Nikita Lobintsev, Danila Izotov) has won with the result, which became the best one in the history of European Championships.
Despite the dense schedule, Nikita found some time to visit his Alma-mater, where he accepted congratulations from the Rector Nikolai Kosarev. The Rector began his speech with the words about excellent shape of our swimmers, who not long ago had changed their swimming costumes onto shorts, which did not become a difficulty for Russian swimmers, and on the contrary, brought new awards.

Nikita entered the University on the advice of Yuri Prilukov, a sixfold World champion, by the way, a graduate of the Mining University. Sometimes, the people say that students-sportsmen study not successfully. Nikita is not the case. He is a modest young man with good manners, gets for studies only good and excellent marks and thinks that the knowledge gained at the Mining-Technological faculty will be useful for him in his future life. And he wants to begin with construction of his own house.

The Head of the Department of Physical Culture Vladimir Nasedkin tells about Nikita the following:
In spring of 2005 an Honoured Coach of Russia Valeriy Ivanovich Shevelev brought a schoolboy to the University, his name was Nikita Lobintsev. The coach presented him as a promising sportsman, finishing the school with good marks. At that time teachers of mathematics were present in the office, who in their turn, showed real “interest” to successes in mathematics of a future entrant. For some minutes Nikita solved a tricky problem. The teachers were greatly impressed and surprised. They did not even guess that high class sportsmen have high intellectual potential.

We wish Nikita to have a good rest before a new season and a new academic year, to gain strength and make our University and the Motherland be happy with his new achievements !
