On Friday, December 16, the Ural Geological Museum of the Ural State Mining University held a presentation of geological and mineralogical routes "Famous deposits of the Sverdlovsk region" for headmasters, directors of studies, and teachers of geography and nature study from the schools of Yekaterinburg, Kamensk-Uralskiy, and Polevskoy.


The project of our museum was among the winners of the grant competition of the Charitable Foundation "Sinara" in the nomination "Native Land” in 2011.

Charitable Foundation "Sinara" implements socially important long-term programs in the areas of health care service, education, culture, and sport providing charitable assistance to public nonprofit organizations.

The Executive Director of the Foundation Irina Markova attended the meeting, personally congratulated the museum with its victory, thanked the organizers, and expressed appreciation to the director of the Ural Geological Museum Kleimyonov Petrovich for the successful implementation of the project.

The presentation was also attended by the oldest museum worker Vladimir Nikolaevich Avdonin, Professor, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences Yuriy Alexeevich Polenov, the director of the Ural Stone Center Firat Mukhametzufarovich Nurmukhametov, and the assistant director of the Geological Museum Sergei Zayakin.
In the course of the presentation the teachers were presented with the multimedia CDs with electronic guides as well as mini-collections of valuable and useful minerals. All the materials can be used at the lessons of geography, nature study, and natural science. The development of domestic tourism provides an excellent opportunity for the rising generation to get acquainted with the history of the native land and to see and appreciate the beauty and richness of the famous deposits of our region.
At the end of the meeting an excursion to the Ural Geological Museum was organized for the guests.
