    Born on December 28, 1951 in Sverdlovsk to the family of workers.

    Specialist in pumping and fan installations of underground mines and railways. Candidate of Engineering Science (1982), Assistant Professor (1989), Professor of the Department of Mining Mechanics (2003), Candidate's thesis: “Improvement of operating efficiency of the mine main fan installations”.

    He graduated from V.V. Vakhrushev Sverdlovsk Mining Institute of the Order of the Red Banner of Labor  with a degree in Mining machines and complexes (1974), mechanical engineer in mining.

    After graduation he served in the Armed Forces of the USSR as a chief of weapon ordance corps  of the military unit, senior lieutenant-engineer.


    After demobilization (1976) he was appointed to the post of a senior engineer of the Department of Mining Mechanics of Sverdlovsk Mining Institute. 1978 - 1981 - postgraduate student, 1982 - 1986 – assistant lecturer, 1986 - 1989 - senior lecturer, 1989 - 2003 - Assistant Professor, since 2003 - Professor of the Department of Mining Mechanics. In 1991 he was given a title of  Assistant  Professor at the department of Mining Mechanics. From 1986 to 1989 he worked as a deputy dean of the Department of Mining Mechanics. He was an elected secretary of the Party Bureau of the Faculty of Mining and Mechanics, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the educational institution (1989 -1991)

    In December 2002, he was appointed to the post of the  Head of  Education and Methodics Department.

    He delivers courses of lectures on "Stationary Machines," Mechanical equipment of mining enterprises, "The technological equipment of ore-dressing and processing enterprises."

    Author and co-author of 55 scientific papers, 20 inventions, 22 textbooks.

    He was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation (2002) and the badge “Honorary Worker of Higher Education "(2004).
