Candidate's thesis (1992) is devoted to the theory of situation analysis in drilling - the basis of a newly created research area within the technology of geological exploration, which can be defined as "the theory of decision-making in the technology of borehole drilling." Within this research area two unique courses "Mathematical and computer modeling of geological and technological processes" and "Mathematical methods of technological analysis” having no analogues in the universities of Russia are developed and delivered to students.
