    Born on December 24, 1948 in Sverdlovsk. Specialists in the field of electric drive and automation of industrial processes and electromechanical equipment for mining; Candidate of Engineering Science (1980), Assistant Professor (1983); Candidate's thesis.: "Optimization of the modes of operation of electric drives of the mechanism of the working equipment of a single-bucket excavator in the process of digging" (1980).

    He graduated from V.V.Vahrushev Sverdlovsk Mining Institute of the Order of the Red Banner of Labour  (1971) with a degree in electrification and automation of open cast mining, mining electrical engineer. After graduation from the Institute he stayed there to work at the Department of Electrical Engineering. 1971-1973 - junior research fellow, 1973-1980 - senior research fellow, 1980-1983 – assistant lecturer, 1983-1992 - Assistant Professor, 1992-1995 — Pro-Rector for Commercial Work, 1995-2002 - Pro-Rector for Economic and Legal Affairs. In 1997 he graduated from the Ural State Law Academy with a degree in jurisprudence. Since 2002 - Pro-Rector for Legal Affairs. He delivers the courses of lectures on "Metrology, standardization and certification". Major works are devoted to improving the operating efficiency of single-bucket excavators, designing of highly effective systems of automatic control and the main electric drives of single-bucket excavators. Author and co-author of 100 publications, 15 inventor's certificates, two of which are licensed abroad, and 1 patent. In 1988 he was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Inventor of the RSFSR.
