Born 4 May, in 1954, in Sverdlovsk. Specialists in the field of automated information systems, automation of industrial processes and electromechanical equipment for the mining industry; Doctor of Engineering Science (1990); Professor (1998); Candidate's thesis.: "Modeling and calculation procedure of the main electric drives of dragline excavators" (1981), Doctor’s thesis: "Modeling and optimization of parameters and modes of operation of the main electric drives of high-powered dragline excavators" (1989).
He graduated from V.V. Vakhrushev Sverdlovsk Mining Institute of the Red Banner of Labour (1976) with a degree in electrification and automation of open cast mining, an electrical engineer in mining. After graduation he stayed at the Institute to work at the Department of Automation of Industrial Processes: 1976-1977 – a junior research fellow, 1977-1979 – a postgraduate student, 1979-1984 — an assistant lecturer, 1984-1987 – a senior lecturer, 1987-1991 - Assisstant Professor, 1991-1993 -- Professor of the Department of Automation of Industrial Processes, since 1993 - Head of the Department of Informatics, 2001 - 2002. - Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Economics. He delivers courses of lectures on "Information", "Design of automated information systems", "Fundamentals of Control Theory. His main works are devoted to the improvement of the operating efficiency of single-bucket excavators, the design of highly effective automatic control systems and the main electric drives of single-bucket excavators; the development of automated systems.
Author and co-author of over 150 publications and six inventor's certificates.
